BH vs Football fans

Woah!
Imagine the anger and disgust that welled up within me when I saw on Channels news that a Bomb had exploded in a viewing centre in Yobe state just after the kick off of the Brazil vs Mexico match which I just finished seeing in the comfort of my room!

I don't understand Nigerians sometimes.
Is it the love for football that has diminished our reasoning? I don't get it. Walahi!

How shall I, a  typical Nigerian with some ounces of common sense in my skull go to a viewing centre to watch this FIFA World cup in YOBE at such a time as this?

Is it my confidence in the Nigerian Police or the Military that will make me ignore the caution ringing in my head; or is it a wishful thinking that members of the BH have taken a break in order to enjoy the world cup? Maybe it's faith that no weapon formed against me shall prosper?

Biko, explain their trail of thoughts to me.

It's unfortunate that yet again, a state that is in a state of emergency has been attacked; but it is even more painful that lives have been lost tonight.
This could have been avoided. Maybe The orphans, widows, widowers and grieving relatives from tonight's attack would still have had their loved ones around if they decided to shun the match; maybe we won't have had to listen to another condemnation speech of BH by GEJ tomorrow morning if some form of Serious SECURITY was provided for every Nigerian citizen.
There are so many maybes and if only going on in my brain right now!

May the families of the departed be comforted, and may the merchandise of BH be frustrated and humiliated very soon! Amen.

    1. Very true. But risking lives to watch football? Hmmm.

  2. Regardless of the fact that PHCN 'held' power from theses folks (pun intended), the security situation of the region is enough reason for anyone to stay at home and enjoy the company of their loved ones. Needless to say that result of the match is inconsequential. Can't add 1 shin shin to their accounts

I only have sympathy for their families who they have succeeded in throwing into the waiting arms of sorrow and anguish

  4. I will not blame those people because if we say becos of BH people should shun viewing centers, should they also shun church, mosques, markets, car parks etc... These people had no other way to take their minds off the precarious situation we have put ourselves in than to go and watch football. We should tell our man at the centre to quit setting up committees, wasting money on confab that will not work but tackle the issues facing our dear nation squarely...

  6. BH myt as well av gone to d town, chase dem all out of their homes and shot them in cold blood.
The truth is BH is a menace. And they operate wherever, whenever and however they like.
Those people aren't to blame for going to a viewing centre (though I wouldn't have).

  7. Hmmmmn.... I agree with your line of thought B8. I wonder why anyone living in those areas would want to congregate at hot spots such as a viewing center....

But, the truth is that living in those states alone sef is enough risk! Yet people live there. Will we ask the government to evacuate everyone in those states? Where will they go? Wont the BH supporters move alongside the people?

Infact living in present day Nigeria is a big risk!

Their aim is to distort our way of life. They kill in the market, church,mosque,school,road,street,house...... i beg where come safe???? Why should people come together to watch football? Hmmmn. May you don't understand. Bill Shankly, the great manager of Liverpool said "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that"

  9. Matter of life and death abi? Ehn,shebi it has become a matter of death for them now abi? They've left their families mourning. Brazil and Mexico will go on in the world cup, they have stopped being in the world forever. Matter of life and death indeed
