Genie GEJ and Malala's birthday wish.

The bible says in Psalm 8:2 that "out of the mouth of babes, you have ordained strength".
Out of the mouth of a child, President Jonathan has found wisdom! Hallelujah!

In celebration of her 17th birthday, Malala Yousafzai made a single birthday wish; to have our Chibok sisters back and alive. The Genie bequeathed with responsibility of making this wish come true is our very own President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

I hate to sound like a pessimist, but judging from the events from the past 3 months, I can guess that Malala may wait a while before she gets her birthday wish.
I know she isn't a spoilt brat who always gets what she wants; she is a young woman who fights for what is right!
And so, even if this wish is delayed, she would get it. That's the way she rolls!

My admiration for this young woman rose as she made public what she discussed behind closed doors with Mr President.
She made it known to the world that GEJ had agreed to her suggestion of meeting with some of the aggrieved parents of the Chibok girls.
To think that it took a 17 year-old to make this suggestion before our Leader agreed to it; truly, in the mouths of babes and infants, strength is found.

Isn't it puzzling that what the #bringbackourgirlscampaign, led by former Minister Oby Ezekweseli has been trying to do for 77 days, Malala achieved in 3 days?
This raises a lot of questions!

Why did the presidency shut the gates against the campaigners, yet opened it to Malala?
Is it because she is a foreigner, hence can't be tagged 'anti-GEJ' or accused of being fuelled by the opposition?
Does this mean that as citizens of Nigeria, we can't make demands to discuss with our president?
Must the international community get involved in our national business before we get the attention of Aso Rock?

A part of me wants to believe that the President is concerned about these girls and that he has sleepless nights concerning the insecurity that has besieged us in Nigeria, but another part of me, the logical and factual part, is convinced that this is not the case.

In the words of Dame Patience Jonathan, ' God is watching all of us o! Remember dearis God'!

And by the way, no be only us waka come! God dey with us!
